Patreon Year End Awards: Natalia’s Year In Dramas!

Hey everyone!

We’re having guest posts from the lovely folks on Patreon, to help us take stock of our drama years, kinda-sorta like what we had last year, woot! 🥳

We’ll be seeing about 2 guest posts per week, and this will unfold into January 2023, and that’s perfectly ok. AND, my annual year-in-review, which usually comes out in December, will also come out in January (or thereabouts 😅), after all the guest posts have been published.

If you missed our earlier posts, you can check them out as follows: phl1rxd, j3ffc, Uyen, Sean, Martina, David.

Today, I’m pleased to announce that Natalia is sharing her drama year!

Natalia’s been away from the blog and from dramas for a little bit, and we have missed her, but YAY that she’s now back, and ready to share her drama year with us! Way to update us on how you’ve been, Natalia! 😉🤩

I hope you guys enjoy!

Today, I’m pleased to announce that Martina is sharing her drama year!

Martina is based in Italy, and while she often says that she’s not confident of her English, I think that she’s got a very interesting way with words; her sentiments are often delivered with a lovely sense of poetry about them, which I think is pretty darn awesome.

I also love that Martina’s a Junho-loving fangirl; I know that I can always count on her to swoon over Junho with me. 😁😍🫠

I hope you guys enjoy!

Patreon Year End Awards: phl1rxd’s Year In Dramas!

Hey everyone!

It’s that time of the year again, when we all start taking stock of our drama years, and wonder where all the time has gone (it’s gone to dramas, of course). 😁

Everyone had so much fun with last year’s year-end guest posts, courtesy of the lovely folks on Patreon, that we’re doing it again this year, woot! 🥳

This year, we’re taking things in a more relaxed direction, so that we don’t all get stressed out from this (and so that I can actually stay on top of my revised, much more demanding Patreon schedule, at the same time 😅).

So, we’ll be seeing about 2 guest posts per week, and this will unfold into January 2023, and that’s perfectly ok.

AND, my annual year-in-review, which usually comes out in December, will also come out in January (or thereabouts 😅), after all the guest posts have been published.

Dear phl1rxd is kicking us off this year (thank you, phl1rxd! ❤️).

If you’ve been around the blog for a while, you probably already know that she’s a sweet, generous and kind lady, who has a passion for wuxia dramas, and a possible obsession with all things Nirvana In Fire. 😁

If you missed our Nirvana in Fire Group Watch, you can still enjoy our Open Threads, which contain my episode notes, phl1rxd’s very comprehensive notes, and everyone’s comments and insights (Open Threads are listed here).

I hope you guys enjoy!

Language Books Review: Learn to write Korean

Hi everyone!

We’ve got a different sort of post today: a language workbook review!

Basically, a while ago, I received an email from the author of these Korean language learning workbooks “Learn to write Korean,” asking if I was located in the US, and if I’d be interested to receive a free copy each, of their Korean writing workbooks, in exchange for a fair review.

The books are described as:

“A fun two-volume Korean workbook series, tailored specifically to those who want to learn the dialogue they hear so often in Korean dramas. Each volume features 100 of the most common words and phrases from K-dramas, and provides definitions, pronunciation guides, and tracing practice (with ample space) for each word or phrase!”

I thought that sounded like a potentially fun and useful resource for us kdrama fans, and accepted the invitation. However, because I’m not located in the US, Trent (who is!) kindly agreed to receive the workbooks, in exchange for a fair review – and here it is!

Big thanks to Trent, for reviewing these books for us! I hope you guys find this useful! (Links to purchase the books are at the end of the review.)

All About Love Stories: By Shahz!

In case you missed it, we have yet another guest post series to enjoy, this month!

Unlike our previous guest post series, this one was kind of an accident, almost. I have Ele to thank for this one, because it was her innocent question about something, that made me casually talk about the off-the-top-of-my-head, hypothetical possibility of a guest post series on love, in the month of February, in honor of Valentine’s Day.

So many folks on Patreon responded enthusiastically to this idea, that I felt that it would be remiss of me, not to actually make it happen, come February.

And so, here we are. This month, we will enjoy a total of nine guest posts from patrons on Patreon, on the topic of love stories. The brief is pretty flexible, in that, each writer is free to go deep, or go wide, on anything around the topic of love stories in Dramaland.

You can check out our earlier posts in the series as follows: UyenJaco_4950KateEleSean, JJ and Martina.

Today’s post (our 8th!) is brought to you by Shahz! Shahz has been a real trooper, continuing to write these guest posts for us, even while recovering from the effects of covid. Thank you so much Shahz, for digging so deep for us. We love you! 😘

I hope you guys enjoy!

KFG ❤️

PS: Because our 9th mystery writer has been rather overwhelmed with some real-life developments, their post will be published in March instead. You can look forward to that! 😃
