Happy May Day, my friends! 🤗 I hope you are all doing well!
Things were “business as usual” in April — episode notes ticking along, new shows settling into place on Patreon, and lots of lovely conversations across our chat corners. 🥰
However, on the personal front, I’m a bit bummed to say that my nervous system is still extremely delicate after a brush with vertigo, so I’m in Serious TLC mode right now. Thanks so much to everyone, for your patience, care and support, as I nurse my nervous system back to health. 🥲❤️
Now, it’s time for our monthly Patreon update — a quick look at what we’ve been covering, what’s coming up, and how things are shaping up behind the scenes.
👀 What I’m currently watching (and what’s on my radar)
Here’s what I’m currently spending time with, and where my attention is likely to go next.
📝 Currently being covered on Patreon:
- Love in the Clouds [China] 🎬 Early Access
- Yumi’s Cells [Korea] 📺 Early Access Plus
- Pursuit of Jade [China] ⭐ Premium Access
- Perfect Crown [Korea] 💎 Ultra Access
These are the shows I’m actively watching and writing notes for right now — the ones I’m sitting with week by week, as the story unfolds.
As some of these reach the end of their run, I’ll be easing new shows into the mix. A few that I’m currently keeping an eye on, include:
🎯 On my radar as potential next picks:
- My Royal Nemesis [Korea]
- The WONDERfools [Korea]
(For anyone who’s curious, you can find a simple overview of the current Patreon tiers here.)
As always, nothing here is set in stone. I like to give new shows a little breathing room before committing, and I’ll see how things land once I’ve had a chance to spend time with them.
If there’s something you think I should check out, feel free to let me know! — I’m always happy to hear what’s caught your attention lately.
✍🏻 Reviews coming up on the blog this month
Here on the blog, I’m planning to publish the following reviews this month:
- Love Story in the 1970s [China] – 11 May 2026
- Yumi’s Cells [Korea] – 18 May 2026
- Perfect Crown [Korea] – 25 May 2026
As always, these dates are a guide rather than a promise — I may shuffle things around depending on how the writing unfolds, but this should give you a general sense of what’s ahead.
🌈 A note on Patreon this month
On Patreon, this month continues in much the same spirit — following shows closely as they unfold, sharing episode notes as I watch, and having space for ongoing conversations along the way.
This is where I post my in-progress episode notes, voice notes, and early thoughts — sometimes rough, sometimes meandering, always part of the watching-and-thinking process. It’s a cozier, more conversational space, where we sit with shows week by week instead of only meeting them at the finish line. 🥰
If you enjoy following along in real time, peeking into my process, or being part of those unfolding conversations, Patreon is where all of that happens.

🔗 If you’re ever curious about how the blog is supported, I’ve also refreshed the Support page — you can find it here.
🌷 Thank you!
So, that’s what May should look like.
As always, thank you for reading and for sharing this space in whatever way feels right to you.
Here’s to another month of appreciating stories, exchanging thoughts, and basking in shared feels! 🥂🥰
In the meantime, feel free to share what you’re watching and thinking about — I always love to know!
KFG ❤️

I am excited for these reviews. I watched Love Story in the 1970s and thought it was lovely. It also gave me some insights into what was going on socio-politically during that time in China, and for some events that the show seemed to idealize, I did some additional research to have broader context. The acting is really strong all around. The ML and FL are wonderful- very full characters, beautifully acted.
Well said, @Dana. Echoes my thoughts on the show altogether. A very satisfying watch.
