Quick Announcement: Copy & paste no longer allowed on this site

Hi everyone,

This is just a quick announcement to let you all know that I’ve just installed a plugin on the site, to prevent theft of my content.

The trigger for this, is that over the last couple of days, 3 of my posts have been stolen and republished on another website which clearly just steals from other sites, because I saw a Dramabeans recap also posted there.

I am having trouble locating the host of this thieving website, and so, I can’t serve a DMCA notice. I’m not TOO upset about that, because with the plugin that I’ve just installed, they can’t steal any more of my posts, and neither can anyone else.

Unfortunately, this also means that you guys won’t be able to right-click, highlight, copy or paste on the blog, sorry about that. πŸ™

PSA: On improving loading speed for the blog

Hi everyone,

This is just a quick announcement, that the blog’s site loading speeds SHOULD have improved.

But, in order for you to enjoy the faster speeds, you may need to clear your browser caches on your device.

I’ll talk a little more about this after the jump – but I just wanted to put it out there upfront, that clearing your browser caches might be the missing link, now that I’ve put fixes in place.

Announcement: FATED “Winter Sonata” Commemorative Group Watch!

You know how sometimes, certain moments seem to coming looking for you, instead of the other way around?

Kinda like how my getting to attending Gong Yoo’s fanmeeting in Tokyo happened, in 2013? (If you missed that, I wrote about the entire experience here!)

WELL. It honestly feels like this next group watch, which I’m announcing here in this post, is something that came looking for me, instead of the other way around.

It feels like FATE, you guys. Which, y’know, is PERFECT, because Winter Sonata is ALL about Fate – well, Fated Love – too, heh.

Happy 10th!

YOU GUYS.

The blog is 10 years old today! TENNN! 😱🀯 That’s literally multiple lifetimes, in blogging years?

The reason I say that, is because when I started blogging, common wisdom was that most blogs didn’t last past the one year mark. And so, if a blog lasted more than a year, then it had a chance of actually having a more lasting presence.

It’s blows my mind, that 10 years ago, I started this blog, ON A WHIM(!), just to see what it was like to have a drama blog, and 10 years later, here I am, and here we are. Wow. 🀯

I feel like I ought to say something extra wise and momentous, to mark the occasion, but.. I’m not sure I’ve got anything wise or momentous enough, to say. πŸ˜…

But, let’s see what I manage to rustle up, anyway. 😁

Announcement: The Princess’s Man Group Watch!

Thanks to everyone who shared your thoughts on our recent brainstorming post, on what we should watch next, as a community!

As promised, I’ve made a decision based on everyone’s input.

For the curious, I didn’t just take into account folks’ indication of interest (ie, how many people said they would be interested in watching this show).

I actually put more emphasis on what you guys expressed, in terms of your mood and genre preferences, and taking all that into account, it seems to me that The Princess’s Man (first floated by Trent – thanks Trent!) would be a good choice that would appeal to most.

I’ll talk a bit more about why this seems like an all-around good pick, but first, here are the various details that you might need!

Group Watch: What shall we watch next?

Thanks to those of you who expressed your interest in continuing with the group watches here on this site.

Like I recently announced, we will continue with the group watches, but with some tweaks.

Basically, we will have only one group watch at a time, instead of two, and we will decide via discussion, with me making a final decision, rather than via a poll.

Here’s our brainstorming post, so that we can discuss what we should watch next, as a community.

As promised, here are some initial ideas, feel free to let me know what you think, in the comments!

Update: The future of group watches and other changes

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much to those of you who took the time to let me know what you would like to see on the blog, going forward.

Aside from the results of the poll itself, I’ve also been paying close attention to the opinions and perspectives you guys shared in the comments.

Taking everything into account, it felt like an appropriate time to overhaul my entire blogging and Patreon approach and schedule, and today, I think it’s time to let y’all know what I have in mind. πŸ˜‡

More Group Watches: YAY or NAY?

I’d like your opinion, you guys!

As I type this, it’s been almost 2 years since we started having group watches on this site, and since our Chuno group watch started in November 2020(!), we basically haven’t had a break from group watches.

With the participation rate appearing to drop in the last couple of group watches (for both Wednesdays and Saturdays), I’m wondering if it’s time to recalibrate.

Since this is a space that you guys have helped to build with your suggestions and opinions, I thought the natural thing to do, would be to ask you guys what you think. πŸ˜ƒ
