Announcement: Heard It Through The Grapevine Group Watch!

Remember how we voted for our group watches 2 months ago, you guys?

Well, time has flown by, and we’re now done with our Healer group watch! Gosh, that was so much fun, to rewatch one of my all-time favorite shows! Thanks for joining me for the group watch, y’all. 🥰

We’ve recently started our group watch of Queen In-hyun’s Man, so do join us for that, if you haven’t already!

AND.. it’s also time to announce the start of our Heard It Through The Grapevine group watch, which was the second People’s Choice winner of the poll.

Here are all the details you might need!

Getting around geo-restrictions

If you’re geo-restricted, a VPN service would help you get around that. Not only does it provide online safety, it also gives you access to lots of great geo-restricted content.

I personally use NordVPN. You can find my review of NordVPN here.

You can use my affiliate link (here!) to enjoy up to 60% * off, with prices starting as low as US$3.29 per month.

* This used to say 73%, but because NordVPN’s changed the way it calculates the discount, it now says 60%. BUT, it’s the same great price, starting from US$3.29 a month!

An article on why it’s not illegal to use a VPN to access legal streaming content can be found here.

Why you should watch:

I haven’t seen this one myself, but Eda and Beez both love the show, and feel it would make for a great group watch discussion.

As I understand it, it’s a bit of a social satire / black comedy sort of thing, and is an underrated gem brought to us by PD Ahn Pan Seok, who also gave us the amazing Secret Love Affair. I’m actually pretty curious to see this one; it’s been on my list for years.

Plus, Lee Joon and Go Ah Sung are both excellent actors, so that’s a definite plus.

If you love this show, do help me out by sharing more in the comments, about why this one is worth the watch!

Heard It Through The Grapevine Open Threads:

In closing

..That’s about it, really! Please go forth and enjoy your first couple of episodes – and remember to tune in for the Open Thread posts, going live next week! ❤️

Also, don’t worry if you can’t make it to join the discussion on Saturday itself; these aren’t live watch parties. Often the discussions go on all week, and sometimes beyond!

I haven’t done a group watch before, but I loved this show when I watched it a few years ago. Also big fan of Lee Joon. So looking forward to our watch💞

I wrote chapter and verse about Grapevine back in the day, so I’m not sure if I have all that much to add now. 😄 I am going to rewatch this with you, so we’ll see.

Lee Joon and Go Ah Sung did great but it’s the older folks that are the driving force imho. Yoo Joon Sang as ML’s daddy dearest is phenomenal! Attorney Han somehow manages to be both utterly ridiculous and a formidable adversary. A truly memorable character.

get ready, you all. if there is a word stronger, higher than SPECTACULAR, than that’s what it must be.
it encompasses so many aspects of korean society, entertaining but thought provoking, whimsical yet dead serious.
and yes, there will be a lot of questions and a lot of discussions – that’s what beez and i concluded and that is why we were so enthusiastic in trying to share it with all of you. hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.

May 4th? Oh so we took a break this week. That gives me some time. I rewatched ep 1 yesterday. I was panicking trying to squeeze ep2 in.

Looking forward to it! Eda and Beez sucked me in. I watched the first two episodes and I can see the satire already. The wealthy parents are so ridiculous! Other than that I’m like you, I’m not sure what to expect. But it will be fun :).
