Remember how we voted for our group watches 2 months ago, you guys?
Well, time has flown by, and while our Healer group watch is still on-going (so cracky, even on a third watch! Do join us, if you can!), we have now completed our group watch of the very twisty yet very heartfelt Signal.
..Which means it’s time to announce the start of our Queen In-hyun’s Man group watch, which was the second Editor’s Choice pick that I made.
Here are all the details you might need!
EDITOR’S CHOICE 2: Queen In-hyun’s Man
Schedule: Saturdays, starting 23 April 2022. Posts will go live at 8:00am, my time (GMT+8).
Romance: Yes.
Commitment: 16 episodes. 2 eps a week = 8 weeks.
In other words: We will discuss E1&2 on Saturday, 23 April 2022.
Why you should watch:
I did love this when I watched it, back when it aired in 2012.
Yoo In Na is adorable in this, and Ji Hyun Woo is our really nice, decent, intelligent male lead, who time travels from Joseon, to meet his fated lady love. My quick review is here.
Bonus factoid:
Ji Hyun Woo fell for Yoo In Na for real, while filming this drama, and made a public love confession after the show wrapped, just before enlisting for military service.
The buzz around this was HUGE. The two did date for a season, but ended up breaking up eventually, which is too bad. The point is, though, the smitten gazes that Ji Hyun Woo wears in this show, are real.
Availability: Available on iQIYI. It’s also available on AsianCrush here, and on YouTube here.
Getting around geo-restrictions
If you’re geo-restricted, a VPN service would help you get around that. Not only does it provide online safety, it also gives you access to lots of great geo-restricted content.
I personally use NordVPN. You can find my review of NordVPN here.
You can use my affiliate link (here!) to enjoy up to 60% * off, with prices starting as low as US$3.29 per month.
* This used to say 73%, but because NordVPN’s changed the way it calculates the discount, it now says 60%. BUT, it’s the same great price, starting from US$3.29 a month!
An article on why it’s not illegal to use a VPN to access legal streaming content can be found here.
Bonus: Trent and j3ffc learned some interesting things in their VPN journey to gain access to this show on iQIYI, and you can read more about it in the comments section of my NordVPN review post here.

Queen In-hyun’s Man Open Threads:
I’ll be linking the Open Threads here, for easy reference. You’ll also be able to find the Open Thread links on my Full List page and on my brand new Group Watches page.
E1&2 | E3&4 | E5&6 | E7&8 | E9&10 | E11&12 | E13&14 | E15&16
In closing
..That’s about it, really! Please go forth and enjoy your first couple of episodes – and remember to tune in for the Open Thread posts, going live next week! ❤️
Also, don’t worry if you can’t make it to join the discussion on Saturday itself; these aren’t live watch parties. Often the discussions go on all week, and sometimes beyond!
I’ve tried out all three viewing options, and my snap impression is that the subs on youtube and asiancrush seem incomplete in places? Like, some dialogue goes by untranslated… the iQIYI version, on the other hand (VPN to Singapore; make sure you’re not logged in if you’re from a geo restricted area, or search incognito mode, or use KFG’s specific link) seems to have all the dialogue completely subbed.
Ooh, thanks for the head-up on the subs, Trent! Very helpful indeed! I wasn’t able to give the subs more than a very cursory check (only to make sure they were there, honestly 😅) so this is very good of you, to recce the territory for us! I’m pinning your comment, so that everyone who comes to the page, will be able to find it easily! Thanks Trent! ❤️
People should definitely double check to see if it’s the same for them, that was just what I noticed. I started ep. 1 on youtube, then switched to asiancrush at some point, and then finally fired up iQIYI. Going to iQIYI definitely requires more hoop-jumping if you’re in the U.S…
This Kdrama is available for FREE on Youtube on the Cereal channel. Just type the title in the search bar.
Thanks for the tip! Watching on Youtube is so much better for me, I have a Premium subscription and the Youtube app is built-in to my TV. It turns out the Heard it on the Grapevine is also on Youtube too!!!
So exicted and thanking you for starting Queen Inhyun’s man. This couple is my favourite OTP of all time. I’ve watched this just 2 years ago but it still remains in my head as the best romance. Will try to catch up with this which maybe will my 4th watch I believe.
Ah, that’s great that you’ll join us!! WELCOME, Orientedstar! 😃
Can’t wait! In case helpful to anyone, for me here in the UK I found it on YouTube with the title Queen and I. Thank you so much, kfangurl! Am almost finished with The Crowned Clown so will need a new romantic fix 🥰
can’t wait for it!!! this is such a sweet drama, although quite a few “road blocks” (i call it) in logic and common sense, as is customary in such dramas, so nothing to be upset about. actually, it is easier to accept as it is a complete fantasy. so you can take from it human emotion, the wonder of imagination, a bit of korean history and a man’s smile that can buy the world.
I found I could access it on IQiyi when VPN is set to USA. I’ll need to use an HDMI to pipe it to the TV though.
Uh not working now. So annoying.
@manukajoe You could try the AsianCrush or YouTube links I shared in the post. Also VPN to USA. 😃
Ok got it working with your link and VPN via S’pore. My problem was the show is not showing up in the IQiyi search, howeveryour link does work. Watched Ep 1. Thanks!
So far, my method of downloading the shows onto iQiyi on my iPad while on VPN, then turning off WiFi, and watching while “offline” (no VPN needed) has worked like a charm (see KFG’s links to my previous post). And Ep 1 is certainly charming…
For those who have not watched it – this is really a true ‘KDrama Classic’ and totally worthy of a watch. I am excited for this one! It is great.
So I was slightly hesitant but now fully in since that is high praise from you!
Shahz – I predict that Jennifer will really love it. I so hope that you enjoy it as well! This one is all about the love. I bet I will cry and spazz over this drama all over again.
Underway – watching it on the big tv screen this time round 😊😊😊
