Dear kfangurl: Can you talk about how you manage everything that you do for the blog?

Welcome to my work space..?

Beez writes:

Dear Kfangurl – After your in depth, thorough, review of Move to Heaven (you’ve always done thorough reviews, but I’m amazed that you still manage to squeeze in watching dramas, much less having the time to deep dive in your writing to break down every character and every characters’ interactions with other characters the way you still do) – so after reading that recent review, I became even more curious of how you manage your time? I’d bet others here would also like to see a timeline post of “a week in Kfangurl’s life”. I imagine you writing, watching, and scribbling 24/7 (almost chained to the television and computer): “Sunday, interacting with patreon members. ‘Oh, it’s Monday, time to finish my notes on NIF’ to post on Tuesday. Wednesday, watch episodes of the latest dramas while taking notes. Post new review on drama recently completed. Thursday, Watch a couple of 1-hour drama specials, prepare and post reviews. Friday, watch episodes for KMHM and prepare recap to post on Saturday. Sunday, hair pull out day.”

But seriously, I’d be so interested in seeing how you manage it all. I guess you don’t have to tell us when you have time to brush you’re teeth, unless you want to… 😊

This Month On Patreon: May 2021

Hi everyone! Time flies, doesn’t it? It’s already time for my May edition of This Month On Patreon!

If you missed my inaugural April post, this is a new feature that I’ve decided to start, thanks to feedback from Mahima, who shared with me that she hadn’t realized that I have a Patreon page, until I’d mentioned it in my recent post on the Ji Soo bullying controversy.

That inspired me to start a monthly post on:

1. what’s happening on Patreon in a given month,

2. exactly when you can expect to see various Patreon-related reviews in the month,

3. what shows I’m considering for coverage on Patreon, to replace shows that have completed their cycles, and

Announcement: Scripting Your Destiny episode notes!

So you might remember that I mentioned in my April This Month on Patreon post, that I was considering Scripting Your Destiny as a replacement show for She Would Never Know, for coverage on Patreon on the Early Access Tier (US$5).

Well, as it turns out, I had to make a quick change of plans because even though I really liked what I saw when I checked out the Scripting Your Destiny, I hadn’t realized that each episode was only about 20-ish minutes long, making it more of a short format drama thing, rather than a full-fledged drama. Oops. 😅 As you might have seen from my announcement on my She Would Never Know review, I’ve picked Beyond Evil for coverage on the Early Access Tier instead.

At the same time, my enjoyment of the initial episodes of Scripting Your Destiny did give me a fun little idea, which I hope you guys will like. 😃

This Month On Patreon: April 2021

Hi everyone! This is a new feature that I’ve decided to start, thanks to feedback from Mahima, who shared with me that she hadn’t realized that I have a Patreon page, until I’d mentioned it in my recent post on the Ji Soo bullying controversy.

This made me realize that the various, more unobtrusive ways that I let you guys know about my Patreon page (via the sidebar, blurbs at the end of relevant reviews, and my Watching page) aren’t actually enough to create sufficient awareness, particularly for those of you who don’t visit all that often, or those of you who don’t happen to spend a lot of time exploring the blog.

That inspired me to start a monthly post on:

1. what’s happening on Patreon in a given month,

2. exactly when you can expect to see various Patreon-related reviews in the month,

3. what shows I’m considering for coverage on Patreon, to replace shows that have completed their cycles, and

4. what you can expect, as a patron.

I hope you guys find this helpful &/or informative, and I hope you’ll consider supporting me on Patreon! ❤️

Ji Soo’s fall from grace: What’s a reasonable response? (Also, Patreon implications for this blog)

If you’ve been following k-ent news of late, you’d probably already know that there has been a spate of bullying accusations leveled against various k-celebs, with each ballooning into its own scandal.

If you’ve been following k-ent news in the last couple of days, you’d also probably already know that Ji Soo has fallen from grace, and in a manner that is very sudden and quite spectacular. Reactions have been varied, but consistently strong. Most people feel a certain way about this, and feel it strongly.

If you haven’t been following k-ent news in the last of couple days and don’t yet know what I’m talking about, well.. buckle up, coz this one’s a bit of a doozy. 😬

Announcement: Change to Patreon payment settings

First of all, thank you so much to every one of you who has been supporting me and this blog via Paypal and Patreon, it really helps me out. I am deeply grateful that you enjoy my work enough, and believe in me enough, to support the blog financially. I feel the love, truly. ❤️

For those of you who might not know this, the pandemic has put my work on hold indefinitely, and I’m now blogging full time and trying to make this into a viable income source, if possible. Ad revenue works out to be not very much, so your support via Paypal and Patreon plays a huge part in helping to keep this blog going.

This is my 9th month now, on Patreon, and today I realized that I needed to make a key change to my Patreon settings, which is why I’m writing this post, so that I can tell you about it.
