Hey everyone! Guess what? I got a chance to be a guest on the Dramas Over Flowers podcast again!
Unlike my first guest spot on the podcast (which you can find here, if you missed it!), I don’t talk all about myself in this episode. 😅
Instead, Anisa and I chat about the last 3 episodes of Squid Game (you can find my review of the show here, and you can also check out my take on why Squid Game is so popular here).
I had a lot of fun recording this one (it’s much shorter than the other podcast, I promise!), and you can listen to it right here!
You can find the show notes here, along with links to articles mentioned during our conversation.
As you guys know, I’m pretty much a noob at podcasting, so if I sound at all incoherent during the podcast, or if I say something tactless, please forgive me. 😅
You can visit the Dramas Over Flowers ladies here, or browse their full list of podcasts here!
I hope you guys enjoy the episode.
Smooches. ❤️

You’re so articulate and eloquent, kfangirl! This was really enjoyable, just like your reviews. You make a really good point about the fact that, if they have a second series, the message of the show would probably be the same. I’d still watch it though even if it is just to see if the handsome policeman is alive! 😍
@Gloglo Ah, thank you for listening, and for your encouraging words – you are very kind. 🥰 Ahaha, hi5 – I’d also tune in, just to see if Officer Hwang is ok! Ah, and also, to see if Train Man is still doing his charming slap thing! 😂
Do you ever review other types of shows? American or European shows? You’re such a good writer, and have such an interesting take on things, that I would love to read what you think about some popular American shows.
@denniscastello Aw, thanks, you are very kind, Dennis!! I have to confess that I rarely ever watch anything western these days, because it’s already impossible to keep up with the Asian dramas I actually want to cover on the site! 😅 Still, it’s really nice to know that you’d be interested to hear what I have to say about something coming out of America or Europe, so perhaps one day I will! 😁
Hey! I listened to both of those podcast episodes that you were on and they were great! I confess I’ve always been curious about how you came to be such a prolific and eloquent writer on this subject.
I’ve wanted to chime in more on your reviews but I’ve been super busy with work and life stuff but I enjoy seeing posts from your blog pop up on my feeds.
Keep up the great work!
Welcome to the club, Dennis!
@denniscastello Thanks for listening to both podcast episodes!! I know the first one was really pretty long, so I appreciate your time, especially since you’re so busy. 🥰
It’s great to see you around here, even though you aren’t able to chime in often. Here’s hoping that your schedule lets up a bit, so that you have more time for Dramaland – and us! 😁
You speak as well as you write, KFG! That was an interesting listen. I was not inspired by Squid Game (maybe primarily for reasons of territoriality – my genre! my genre!, unwitting kdrama newbies… which is rich from a fan of only 24 months. 😆) But, as usual your insights, added texture (and empathy?) to my watch. I am always struck by the differences between kdramas and kmovies. I use to feel like one or the other was trying to mislead the viewer about the true nature of Korean culture. But I came to understand it was not either/or, but both, being authentic. It pierced the veil of my dreamy kdrama world a bit, to accept that there are violent, rancid criminals in South Korea and that not all Korean men rock turtlenecks, but it suits me better to appreciate a reality. (Or some version of it.) Thanks for a good listen.
@Leslie Thanks for enjoying the listen! I had a similar reaction, back when I first discovered k-movies, after having spent some time watching kdramas. I’d found it rather jarring, and it took me a while as well, to reconcile the two. All that to say, I feel you! ❤️
@KFG – Great podcast! Loved hearing more insights about SQG. I didnt hear anything incoherent or tactless 🙂
Aw thanks for listening, @JJ!! Especially since you didn’t even watch the show! You are very sweet. 🥰
@KFG – Of course, I listened to my favorite Kdrama Source 🙂 I really did like what you had to say about Season 2 and how you saw the ending of Season 1. Had I known how it ended, I might have been able to make it through the Show 😂😂😂 So not true. I was glad though to hear how it ended 🙂
@KFG – Great podcast! Really enjoyed listening to more details about SQG. I didnt hear anything incoherent or tactless!
