We have a few changes on the blog today, my friends!
Mostly, you guys have been asking for certain pages, and certain other corners of the blog have been growing and evolving as well, so it’s finally time to make some adjustments to the blog menu!
This is just a quick announcement to let you all know that this is happening, what these new pages are, and where to find them!
What new pages are these?
There are basically 4 – edit: well, now make that 5! – new pages on the blog:
1. A-Grade Shows AND 2. B-Grade Shows
So many of you have been requesting a list of just my A-graded shows, over the past months, that I felt it was time to actually create it, along with its sibling, B-graded shows.
Along with this change, I’ve now removed the pages “Full-length Reviews” and “Flash Reviews” because I don’t think you guys find them all that useful, and I didn’t want to clutter up the blog with too many pages.
You can see from the title screenshot, that these two new pages sit under the Reviews tab of the menu, right after Full List Of Shows.
Here are quick links to both pages, in case you’d like to visit them right away: A-Grade Shows & B-Grade Shows.
3. Group Watches
This is a pretty new page that I created with this latest round of group watches. This one’s a suggestion by Katissimo, who mentioned to me that having a Group Watch page would make it easier for folks to find the Open Threads easily.
Originally, I had this page sitting under the Reviews section, but it occurred to me today, that the Open Thread episode notes aren’t reviews, so as you can see from the title screenshot, I’ve given Group Watches its own section, right below the Reviews section.
You can visit the page here: Group Watches.
4. Reaction Posts
I did wonder whether it was premature to create a Reaction Posts page, since I’ve only done a few so far, but since I do plan to keep doing these at least sometimes, I thought it would make sense to have a place where it’d be easy for you guys to find them.
Because these aren’t reviews or recaps, I’ve given them their own section, right below the Group Watches section, as you can see from the title screenshot.
You can visit the page here: Reaction Posts.
New Addition: Update!
5. Years-In-Review
This new page is a request by Jam, over on Facebook, to have a page for my year-in-review posts.
So I made one, and also included all other related year-end posts, for your easy reference. As you can see from this new screenshot, it sits under the Reviews section, right at the end, under Short Drama Things.
You can visit the page here: Years-In-Review.
Technical Issues
This is just a quick announcement to let you guys know that the technical issues that we’ve been facing, ie, Shahz’s post not showing correctly, and the site loading errors, have now been fixed.
Without going into too much detail, I just wanted to say that the technical issues stemmed from incompatibilities in my site integration with one of my ad partners. Now that I’ve decided to leave that ad partner, the related technical issues should not happen anymore. YAY.
Thanks so much for your patience during what must have been a frustrating time. I hope you’ll enjoy the blog much more freely and easily now!
..And that’s it!
I’m sorry it’s taken me some time to get things sorted. 😅 I hope you guys will enjoy the blog more easily now, and that you’ll find the new pages useful in navigating your way around the site!
KFG ❤️
Fangurl – LOVE 💖💖💖 the menu changes! This reorganization is a thing of beauty. It also shows the tremendous growth in the last few years. Brava Fangurl!
I have been meaning to ask you – have you ever thought about adding a “Back to top” icon? I find that when reading your reviews I like to comment on specific parts, but I often need to go back up to ensure I get it correct. I am a serious user of the roller on my mouse. 🙄😆🙄😆 It would be helpful. However, if you are like me, adding plugins is akin to playing Russian Roulette. 😂🤣😅
Again, great menu update Fangurl! With this change, I easily found your first Year in Review 2012 and took a walk down memory lane. This change ranks up there with the addition of the built in editor you added right before NIF group watch. I just love that addition Fangurl! Whatever you paid for that plugin was worth it a thousand times over.
So glad you like the changes, @phl1rxd! How fun, that you had a walk down memory lane with my 2012 year in review! That was my first ever year in review post, so I’m tickled that we share 2012 as a year of firsts! My first year blogging was your first year watching dramas, woot! 😃
About the “back to top” icon.. I do think it would be useful, but like you said, adding plugins really is like playing Russian Roulette. Also, all the adding and deleting of plugins leaves all that virtual debris in the form of unused javascript, that I don’t personally know how to remove, and it ends up slowing down the site.
With the recent site clean-up that I just had the tech specialist do, I’m hesitant to mess with the plugins unless absolutely necessary.. 😅😅
Fangurl – I completely understand!
💪💪
Yay, I have been wanting a way to easily find your A grade shows! And how great that you did a list of the B grade ones too, because some of the ones you rated B+ (ahem CLOY and Hometown Cha Cha Cha) I really really super enjoyed despite their admitted flaws.
Aw yay that you like the new pages, Elaine!! And yes, I have to admit that I’ve got some very solid shows in my B-Grade list! So I hope folks will give at least the B+ and B++ ones a look, some of those missed an A-grade by just a hair, honestly! 😅
I love the changes. Much easier to navigate for newbies! Thank you for making it user friendly (on top of quality content!) It’s so hard to run a blog now let alone with solid content. You hit all top marks from me!
So glad you like the changes, MC, and thank you so much, for the encouragement!! 🥰🥰
Wow, so many wonderful improvements, thank you! 😍
So glad you like them, Kate! ❤️ I should’ve done this earlier 😅
..And now there’s one more: I got another request and I’ve just updated the post with a new page for Year-in-review posts! 😁
Awesome, kfangurl and thank you 😊😎😊
Glad you like the changes, @seankfletcher! ❤️
