Year In Review: 2021

Where has 2021 gone, seriously? This was a strange year, in that it felt like time was passing really fast, but it also felt like we were stuck and frozen in time – or is that just me? 😅

I think it’s safe to say that it’s been a tough year for us all. For hanging in there; for continuing to put one foot in front of the other; for continuing to look for and appreciate the good in your world: You’ve done well, my friends. ❤️

Even though things in Dramaland have continued to evolve, there’s one thing that remains constant, and that is, our dramas are always there for us, ready to whisk us away into another world, at least for a little while; ready to introduce us to new friends, as we meet new characters; ready to offer us vicarious experiences, even if we’re in the thick of a lockdown and can’t leave our homes.

Just like it was last year, dramas helped to make life a little brighter and sweeter for me, and I hope they’ve done the same for you too. ❤️

Review: Scripting Your Destiny

THE SHORT VERDICT:

This little show feels different from most other web dramas, because it manages to feel interesting and original, and quite meaty, despite its short running time.

On top of that, it manages to feel breezy and fun, making for a fun ride where I consistently wanted to go back for more.

As a bonus, we even get lots of cheeky little nods to Goblin, which is clearly an inspiration for writer-nim (Kim Eun Sook – who penned Goblin – is this show’s Executive Producer, just for a bit of context).

Altogether, Show feels like it’s at least several notches above the average web drama. The bright, rich Spring palette, polished shiny finish, and pleasant OST complete this very pleasant little package.

The overall effect of all this, is that I felt like I was watching a full-fledged drama – just with all the filler sliced out.

Flash Review: Must You Go? [Web Drama]

To be honest, everywhere I’ve looked, I’ve seen a fondness for this show, which is why I’ve been patiently trying to get into the zone of loving this show, with each episode that I’ve watched.

Sadly, try as I might, I just couldn’t find the “love zone” with this one. This doesn’t mean I hated it, though. I just didn’t love it as much as everyone else seems to.

Also, just because I didn’t love it, doesn’t mean you won’t. Different strokes for different folks after all, right? I hope this quick review will help give you an idea of where you might land with this one.

And if you happen to land in the love zone with this show, give it a little extra love for me, please?
