Dropped: Pro Bono

I always hope to love the dramas that I start, but I can say that this is one time where that was even more keenly true that usual.

That’s because so many of you loved this, that we had more than 100 – ONE HUNDRED! – comments on this show in the Deep-dive Zone alone. I do think that that’s a new record that you’ve set, my friends. 😁

And so of course FOMO poked me – hard! – and I decided that I wanted to join this party too.

Unfortunately for me, this party-joining hasn’t gone the way I’d hoped, and here I am, tapping out after watching 8 episodes of Show’s 12. 😅

Dropped: My Youth

Sometimes, I back away from a show because I’m not in the mood for it; sometimes, I back away from a show because I feel like it’s objectively not very good; sometimes, I back away from a show because I am convinced that the show just isn’t for me.

This is a case of Show just not being for me, my friends.

I’ve now watched 4 episodes out of Show’s total of 12, and I’ve decided to tap out of this one.

I know that there are folks who sincerely love this one (heck, I’d been convinced by the trailers, that I would be one of those people 😅), so just because this one’s not working for me, doesn’t mean that it wouldn’t work for you.

Dropped: Heavenly Ever After

My friends. I really, really wanted to love this one.

Not only does it feature a number of actors whom I love (Kim Hye Ja! Han Ji Min! Son Seok Ku! Lee Jung Eun! 🤩🤩🤩🤩), it also comes from the team that brought us The Light in Your Eyes (review here!), a drama that I think is very, very special. 🥲

I felt that with all that going for it, I just couldn’t miss this drama.

And yet, now, 8 episodes into Show’s 12, I’m sorry to say that I’ve decided to throw in the towel. 😅

However, just because this show doesn’t work for me, doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t work for you, because there are folks who really, really love this show.

Who knows; you might be one of them?

Dropped: The Witch

This is one of those times when my goodwill just isn’t enough, my friends 😅 – I’m tapping out of this one, 5 episodes into Show’s total of 10.

Originally, I’d had every intention of finishing this show, if only out of curiosity, but.. it didn’t end up working that way, as they often say, in kdrama. 😁

Still, I’ll do my best to lay out the pros and cons that I personally found, while watching, and hopefully that will help you figure out which camp you belong to, because, for the most part, folks seem to either love this one, or hate it. 😁

Dropped: Check In Hanyang

I’m calling it quits on this show, my friends.

I’d really hoped to like it, and each week, I earnestly did my best to appreciate Show’s glimmers of promise.

But, 10 episodes in, out of this show’s 16, I think it’s time to admit the truth: I’m just never going to love this one the way I’d hoped to. 😅

Dropped: The Impossible Heir

Well, this was unexpected. 😅

Just last week, I’d told you guys, in my review of Knight Flower, that I’d decided to cover this show on Patreon, and that this one had grabbed me nicely – and right away.

In a slightly rollercoaster-esque turn of events, here I am, to tell you guys that I am now officially dropping The Impossible Heir, 5 episodes in. 🙈

I guess you just never know, y’know?

Dropped: Love Is An Accident [China]

I was really hoping that this one would work out for me, because I found the premise cute, and the initial episodes promising, but.. it just wasn’t meant to be, I guess. 😅

12 episodes in, I’m calling it quits on this one, and I’m gonna attempt to lay it all out here in this post, so that you can hopefully figure out whether this one’s for you, even though it’s not for me.

For reference, I do think that Sean and phl1rxd liked this one a lot, so if your drama taste vibes fairly similarly with theirs, then, maybe..?

Dropped: Unchained Love [China]

You know how I always talk about managing expectations and adjusting your viewing lens, in order to best enjoy your watch of any show?

Well, I tried with this one, you guys. I really did.

But, as you can tell from the title of this post, that didn’t work out at all the way I’d hoped. 😅

And so it is, that I’m tapping out of Unchained Love after just 10 episodes.

I’ll still tell you ALLL about it, though, so that you can decide whether you’d still like to give this one a try, even though it didn’t work for me.

Dropped: Why Her?

I really, really wanted to like this one, you guys.

I mean, it’s headlined by Seo Hyun Jin, whom I think is an excellent actress, and Show’s promos made Seo Hyun Jin’s character Soo Jae look like a force to be reckoned with.

Ooh. I couldn’t say yes fast enough, basically.

Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I find myself dropping out, after 9 episodes.

Still, I hope you guys find this Dropped post useful, in helping you figure out whether this one’s for you.

Dropped: Forecasting Love And Weather

The main reason I checked out this show, is honestly because of the mixed reactions I’ve heard to this show.

I’d heard some very “meh” reactions to this one, and at the same time, some very positive reactions as well. Plus, Show received decent ratings, which means that the domestic audience liked it reasonably well, or at least, didn’t hate it.

I wondered whether I’d manage to like this one too, with some suitable lens adjustments.

However, that was not to be, unfortunately. 5 episodes in, I’m calling it quits on this one.

Still, I hope that you guys will find this Dropped post helpful, in terms of deciding whether this one is something that you’d enjoy.
